This course is highly recommended for any person who would like to include basic principles of coaching in his/her daily interaction with people.
This is a general Introduction to Life Coaching Course which takes place over two days for which you will receive a certificate of completion from The South African Institute for Life Coach Training (SAILCT).
This course will allow you to apply Life Coaching principals in your current profession or vocation. You are taught the basic principles needed for Life Coaching. This is also a good course to take for self improvement.
The course content is similar to The SAILCT Comprehensive Coaching Course, being concise and introducing the coaching discipline and principles, and without any field work, practicum and written exams.

These three day courses contain similar content as the Introduction to Life Coach Training Course, but is thematic and specifically designed and adapted to fit in with the ethos and need of any corporate, social, people or target group. You will receive a certificate of completion issued by the SAILCT pertaining to the discipline or theme focused on. Some of our most popular courses are:

This course is recommended for transitioning therapists and counselors into coaching and all human development professionals, such as educators, therapists, social workers, counselors, attorneys, consultants, librarians, etc.
This course is aimed at focusing on being relevant in the context of the South African market, specifically designed for human developmental professionals and others with backgrounds in the people business. The course is rooted in transitioning therapists and counselors into coaching. It has blossomed into a class that serves all human development professionals, such as educators, therapists, social workers, counselors, attorneys, consultants, librarians, etc.
This course is not an International Coaching Federation (ICF) accredited course. The option and prerogative to choose where to affiliate and associate is left to the student.
We decided that it is more appropriate and relevant to align ourselves with Coaches and Mentors of South Africa (Comensa) www.comensa.org.za. Individuals who have completed the course may still approach the ICF for affiliation should they wish to.
This course (5 days of 8 hours each plus additional field work and practical) provides essential and in depth knowledge and skills to launch a coaching career through daytime classes. To gain the most out of this learning experience, students will be asked to prepare for and participate in 5 full day classes, complete post-class assignments (called fieldwork) and self study over a period of 3 weeks. The total estimated time commitment per week is 4 to 5 hours.
After the above has been completed, an open book exam is written in the leisure of your own home and emailed to us. You will need a minimum of 70% in order to successfully pass this course. Other course completion requirements may apply, and will be communicated to the student.
Students will need to have regular access to the internet and will have to research web sites and material pertaining to Life Coaching to gain as much as possible valuable information.
Module 1: Introduction to Coaching covers the most recent definitions of coaching, distinctions between therapy and coaching, and Listening as a Coach.
Module 2: Coaching Basics defines the coaching alliance and explains how you might design one, what elements are necessary for the first coaching conversation, introduces and explains the basic coaching model, discusses powerful questions and purposeful inquiry, how to design the action, and what someone does with what they already know.
Module 3: The Coaches Tool Box covers skills and tools for empowering and forwarding the action, Advanced Coaching skills, and allows time for the students to practice coaching.
Module 4: Marketing Your Practice provides insight into marketing effectively, creating a full and fulfilling practice, the importance of credibility, visibility, and contact with a client and practice building tips.
Module 5: Coaching from the Inside Out focuses on life design and personal fulfillment. This is a personal journey in designing your own life and utilizes skills and techniques useful in working with clients.
Module 6: Coaching Labs focus on role-play and the coaching process based on the skills and tools taught in previous classes. Each student is expected to serve as coach and client over the total training period.

To receive SAILCT recognition as a SAILCT Certified Life Coach you will need to have completed the SAILCT Comprehensive Coaching Course as a pre-requisite. The terms and conditions will be discussed at a personal interview scheduled either in person or over Zoom with the student. A personal assessment will be conducted.
